Created by STA’s lifesaving experts, providing you with quality training Training is in accordance with the National Occupational Standards, HSG179 Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools (including its new protocols that no longer require lifeguard qualifications to be revalidated every 2 years) and British Standard BS EN 15288 Part 2, Safety Requirements for Operations Regulated by Ofqual and Accredited by SQA Accreditation Meets CIMSPA’s employer-led lifeguard professional standard It will allow you to gain active employment as a pool lifeguard Includes the First Aid at Work syllabus, meaning that you can also act as a first aider using your Pool Lifeguarding qualification without having to attend a separate first aid course. Course date: 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th 18th April 2025. 08.00-17.00 each day. Course location: David Lloyd Leisure, Basildon, Essex, SS14 3DG. Course includes Manual, tutor led face to face training, certification and assessment fees. The course will teach you the practical skills of lifeguarding, such as water rescue, casualty recovery, CPR and first aid. COURSE REQUIREMENTS All applicants must be able to do the following prior to applying for the course: All applicants need to be over 16 yrs old on the day of assessment Swim 50m in less than 1 minute Swim 100m continuously on your front then 100m on your back Tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool Climb out of the pool unaided Qualification lasts for 3 years upon successful completion.
